Dans met je hart en betaal met je polsbandje – Tijdens het zomerse Liquicity festival 2023 beleefden bezoekers de ultieme cashless ervaring dankzij polsbandjes en bestellen met QR-codes. Opladen via een branded webshop of kiosk, en moeiteloos betalen voor eten, drinken en merchandise. Ontdek hoe gemak, plezier en muziek hand in hand gaan in deze samenwerking.

Liquicity Festival

Liquicity Festival is an annual music festival in the Netherlands known for its focus on drum & bass music styles. The festival offers a fantastic experience where lovers of electronic music come together to dance to the beats of national and international DJs and artists. The atmosphere at Liquicity Festival is characterized by positive vibes, a sense of community and a shared passion for music. In addition to the music, the festival features a variety of fun activities and opportunities to meet new people and experience electronic music culture together.

The challenge

Stress-free payment and enjoyment

The goal was to implement an efficient payment system with wristbands and QR codes to improve the festival experience for all visitors. Traditional payment methods such as cash or bank cards can lead to long queues and delays at the bar, food trucks and merchandise points. By introducing an innovative and automated system, they wanted to provide a smooth and stress-free payment experience, allowing people to spend more time enjoying the music and activities at the festival.

The solution

Wristbands and QR codes for easy payment

Upon entry, all visitors received a wristband with a unique QR code. By scanning this, they could recharge their band via the Liquicity branded webshop, created by Sjef, without the need for an account. In addition to the webshop, there were also 10 manned counters where people could recharge their band with pin or cash. There were also kiosks on the festival grounds where visitors could have their QR code scanned to top up the balance. This allowed festival-goers to conveniently pay at all bars, food trucks and merchandise points with their wristbands. In the end, 71% of festival-goers recharged their wristbands through the webshop and the remaining 29% through the kiosks.

Results

Enhanced festival experience with cashless payment system

Het cashless betaalsysteem met polsbandjes en QR-codes zorgde voor een verbeterde festivalervaring op Liquicity. Mede door de samenwerking met Virtical voor stabiel internet werd er gezorgd voor een soepele werking van het systeem. Bezoekers konden, zonder account nodig te hebben, eenvoudig hun saldo opladen via de speciale webshop van Sjef. Handige kiosken, verspreid over het festivalterrein en de camping, boden extra mogelijkheden om het saldo aan te vullen. Het efficiënte systeem verminderde wachttijden, verbeterde de organisatie en creëerde een zorgeloze ervaring, waardoor bezoekers volop konden genieten van het festival. In totaal waren er 10 kiosken, 5 op de camping en 5 op het festivalterrein. De bandjes die iedereen aan het begin van het festival ontvingen, hadden een NFC card en werden uitgereikt bij de ingang. LIQ was de eigen valuta van Liquicity en tijdens 3 dagen lang kwamen er 20.000 festivalgangers naar het festival.
